I came to the UK in 2019 and everything was going well until the pandemic ended. I started going through a lot and I had to stop studying. I was depressed - I lost my confidence and my hope.
English is not my first language, which was a barrier for me when I tried to join theatre groups. However, Intermission Youth Theatre (IYT) welcomed me and changed my life!
I joined in 2023 and I found in IYT a safe space to be vulnerable without being judged. Every time I walked into the room, I felt the love, support, and care from everyone. I'm amazed to see how I grew in confidence over the 10-month program.
IYT gave me a reason to continue believing in my dreams, a chance to become a disciplined person and an opportunity to work on my craft. I surely believe the future is bright for me!
